My Story
David Kugler brings both passion and experience to the pool as an assistant coach, drawing from years of dedication as a competitive swimmer and a longtime mentor. A proud alum of the Paseo Aquatics program under the guidance of Coach Chris, David now competes at the collegiate level for The Master’s University, where he is a senior majoring in Accounting and Finance. Known for his disciplined work ethic and love for the sport, David has consistently led by example—balancing rigorous academics with the demands of high-level swimming. At 6 feet tall, his powerful presence in the pool is matched by a humble and driven spirit.
A native of Santa Clarita, California, David graduated from Hart High School and has been a familiar face at Santa Clarita Aquatics for many years. As a Parks and Rec coach, he has built a strong reputation for encouraging young swimmers with patient instruction, a great sense of humor, and a commitment to fundamentals. David credits much of his growth to his family—parents Craig and Joy, and siblings Jon, Rachel, Ben, and Katie—who have supported his journey from local lanes to collegiate competition. When asked why he chose The Master’s University, David simply replies, “It’s the best.” That same wholehearted dedication shows in every practice, every race, and every swimmer he mentors.
