Welcome Coach Tim Lim

Strengthening Paseo's coaching bench for today’s athletes and tomorrow’s leaders.

We’re excited to share some big news with the Paseo Aquatics community. Tim Lim, a Santa Clarita Valley native, accomplished All-American swimmer and beloved coach, has officially joined the Paseo Aquatics leadership team.

Coach Tim brings with him deep local roots, a strong competitive background and a coaching philosophy that aligns seamlessly with Paseo’s Path to Excellence. His addition reflects our ongoing commitment to building the strongest, most thoughtful coaching bench in the Santa Clarita Valley.

A hometown athlete with a proven track record

Coach Tim’s connection to Santa Clarita swimming runs deep. A Saugus High School alum, he was a multi-time All-American swimmer and a key contributor to CIF Division I relay teams before competing collegiately at Colorado Mesa University.

He transitioned into coaching in 2019 and has since held leadership roles across club, HOA and high school programs, including serving as head coach at Hart High School from Fall 2022 through Spring 2025. His experience as both an elite athlete and a mentor has shaped a coaching approach grounded in mindful discipline and education, with the goal of healthy, long-term athlete development.

A natural fit for Paseo’s Path to Excellence

“We’re thrilled to welcome Coach Tim to the Paseo Aquatics family,” said Head Coach Chris Dahowski. “His deep ties to our community and his growth-minded approach to coaching align perfectly with our commitment to every child’s Path to Excellence. He adds even greater depth to our already exceptional staff.”

Coach Tim will play a key role as Paseo continues to expand across the Santa Clarita Valley, supported by a new parent-led Board of Directors and investments in a comprehensive, athlete-centered development model. Athletes ages 13 and up will have the opportunity to train with Coach Tim in either our Senior 1 (elite middle school) or Senior 2 (high school performance) groups, depending on fit and readiness.

“Paseo’s commitment to developing the whole athlete truly resonates with me,” Coach Tim shared. “This is a program that prepares swimmers not just to compete, but to lead — in the pool and in life. The collaborative leadership model creates an environment where coaches are supported and athletes can do their very best work.”

A world-class coaching staff, growing stronger

Coach Tim joins an accomplished and diverse coaching team that brings elite competitive experience and a shared commitment to continuous learning. Paseo Aquatics continues to expand its assistant coaching staff as well, creating meaningful pathways for former athletes and emerging leaders to give back to the sport and the community. This depth allows Paseo to pursue excellence without sacrificing athlete health, confidence or long-term potential.

The Path to Excellence: built for the long game

At Paseo Aquatics, we measure athlete development in decades, not seasons. Competitive swimming may begin in childhood, but athletic and personal growth often extends through college and well beyond. Our goal is simple and ambitious: build strong bodies, resilient minds and confident spirits prepared for lifelong growth and leadership. Training at Paseo prioritizes sustainable development over short-term outcomes, ensuring athletes are supported physically, mentally and emotionally today and for the future they’re working toward.

What’s on deck in 2026
